Mandatory Heights Inspections

Working At Heights Mandatory Inspections

We all have a duty of care to prevent injury or harm to staff, contractors, and visitors in the workplace. The identification of workplace hazards and implementing controls to reduce or eliminate them form the basis of many workplace Standards, Regulations and Government Acts.

With the significant increase in the installation of permanent ‘Working at Heights’ equipment, such as safety lines (or static lines), anchor points, rigid rails, vertical/ladder lines or fall protection equipment, there is a responsibility to maintain this equipment in a good and serviceable condition.

It’s an Australian Standard AS1891.4:2009 requirement that this apparatus is inspected and, in some cases, tested, by a qualified professional at a specified interval – and more often if site conditions or state regulations dictate. Height safety systems are also generally required to be inspected and tested with recertification, 10 years after the installation date.

If you’re unsure about your workplace regulations or whether certain equipment requires inspection, contact Bullivants. They have skilled, authorised, and professional height safety personnel who can ensure your ‘Working at Heights’ gear meets or exceeds Australian Standard requirements.

All inspection data is entered into the Bullivants Electronic Asset Management system which can be accessed via a secure web portal. This system provides improved traceability of your valuable assets and advises you of your due or overdue inspections.

Bullivants capabilities exceed far more than just inspecting and testing. As approved and accredited installers, their experienced Installed Systems Team can provide a complete service, from the initial enquiry, including design, supply and installation, through to handover training and annual inspections. You can be 100% confident you’re getting a reliable and trusted solution with Bullivants.

With an extensive network of branches across the country, Bullivants can service any area in Australia. Ensure your workers are safe and their equipment is fit for purpose by giving Bullivants a call.
