Introducing the Limited Edition Lincoln Arachnid

Earlier this year we put a call out to welding enthusiasts across Australia to design the welding helmet they’ve always wanted to wear. The winning design would be turned into the latest edition of the Lincoln Viking welding helmet series, and be stocked exclusively by Blackwoods.

After putting the decision to public vote via the Blackwoods Facebook page, we had a clear winner. The unique design would come to be known as 'The Arachnid'.

The Helmet

Featuring a hand-drawn design by tradesman and welder, Paul Craig, the new Lincoln Arachnid is the latest installment in the top-of-the-line Lincoln Viking welding helmet series.

Exclusively designed for Blackwoods, the Lincoln Arachnid is limited to just 300 pieces worldwide.

The Design

Of the design, Paul told us "The helmet is inspired by industry as well as some familiar Australian arachnids. The style though is old school pen and paper using a process called pointillism, incorporated within a geared design that I feel works well within a welding theme."

"Using pens down to 0.005mm tip thickness, creates a unique visual but unfortunately requires time - approximately 3 million dots to complete this work in around 60hrs over 10 days. I hope this design captures the eye and just maybe someone will find all the hidden items that I have included."

The Technology

The Arachnid features Lincoln Electric's 4C Lens Technology to improve visibility and reduce eye strain.
