• Steel alloys are made specially for KNIPEX according to their own “recipe” and also for each plier style depending to the application. This gives long lasting cutting capability, strength when working with high torque loads and good resistance to corrosion.
• Special heat treatment on different parts of the plier produce the optimum relationship between hardness and toughness so your pliers last longer. For example, after induction hardening the body of the plier is softer than the harder cutter area.
• Precision of the pliers is essential for proper function. Without accuracy there can be no reliable cutting, gripping and shaping and also no zero backlash. KNIPEX regularly check pliers during each production step to ensure compliance. Only after several test cuts does a pair of cutting pliers leave the factory!
• Forging as a forming process is an old cultural technique and continues to hold fascination today. Each piece of steel is heated to a glowing 1250° C and pounded with an impact of five tonnes. This gives the tool its basic shape and a well compacted structure.

Over 400 machines at KNIPEX have been designed and built in house. The forging dies are also made in house! The latest technology ensures that over 45000 pairs of pliers in different models leave the factory every day.
